You get what you pay for!

How many times have you heard "You get what you pay for"............I know growing up with very little knowledge of anything, I was told by my parents "Buy the best you can afford, again you get what you pay for."
Only till recently does the consumer of major appliances feel as if they really get more for that expensive appliance purchase. With GE and Whirlpool releasing "smart appliances", you are most defintely getting what you pay for. Some of these features include the capability to respond to signals from the power company when power availbility dips through a highly complicated "smart grid" by the year 2015.
Not only are these appliances able to adapt to power signals, but also use bluetooth technology to enable the consumer to transfer photos, obtain recipes, or surf the web on their refrigerator!
All of this is nice technology to make day to day life easier, but what about the servicing experience? With the wireless connectivity, appliances will have the capability to run remote diagnostics. So before you know it you will have the part to fix your broken appliance arrive at your door speeding up the repair process. This will benefit both the service company and the consumer by allowing the guranteed 1st time completion of your broken appliance with little, too no, intrusion to the consumer. Not to mention the scheduling dificulties that can occur with some service companies.
